Crochet Charts

Crochet Pattern Charts, add fun to your work, whether you're working on a small project or a large one. Use them to make afghan squares or potholders. Here are some fun designs that I've found on the internet.  They can be used for Cross Stitch Projects, as well.

Reusing Cork in your Sewing Kit

Here's a great idea that was shared by one of my Knitting Sisters in my Parish.  Recycle your cork and use it as a protector for your Very Sharp scissors.  It works better with the smaller scissors. It's easy to do. Just poke the tips through the cork and "wa-la".  Also, use it to protect the points of your knitting needles too!

Halloween Batik Fabric

The apron pattern has been cut on this fabric.  Notice the batik print on the reverse side.....kinda goes with the rest of my Batik Themed Aprons. The flecks of gold on the front side, adds a bit of sparkle and "bling".  The black fabric will be used for the ties and will trim the bottom edge of the ruffle....although, I ran out of the black fabric.....so off to the fabric store I go.  My aprons have become a popular sell and one of them, now resides in Australia!

Christmas and Halloween Aprons in the Making

Found these very nice fabrics to use on my aprons. Just love the Romantic and Classy look on the Christmas Print.  Thanks Nina, for your suggestion!  I'll be working on them this afternoon and will post the photos later.

Falling in Love with Fall

The seasons changed immediately in Southern  Virginia.  Last week it was summer in the mid-90's.  This week it's in the mid-60's during the day and dipping to the mid forties at night........Love the cool weather, the most.

It did get me in the mood to do some more knitting and crocheting......here's a glimpse of what's new in my shop:  It's Sew You!

An Apron in the Making.....2

Looks like there's enough fabric to make an apron from this luscious fabric.  This is my favorite fabric so far, with the rich colors and splashes of turquoise, throughout.  Hope to add it to my shop, later today...

New to my shop - Batik Aprons!

I've just added a couple of these hostess aprons, and I have about 4-5 more.  All are different and definitely a one -of -a- kind find!  Don't let the measurements throw you off.  The ties add that "extra mileage" when you need it.

Sewing After a Really big Snow Day!

Williamsburg sure got a very heavy Snowfall yesterday.  Looked really pretty this morning.  The Sun was out, and thankfully, it melted the snow on our driveway.  So no shovelling for us!

Started a sewing project that I haven't quite finished.  Hoping to figure out how to finish the seams.  It's still cold out there and it's always a good time to do some needlework of some sort.  The Superbowl game will start in a few.  Not a football fan.  I'll only watch the superbowl if a California team is playing.  Especically, the San Diego Chargers.  Maybe next year.

Until next time..............

New to Blogging and a New Website

Why am I blogging? Well, I've decided to try a few different things this year. Opening up my website selling my handmade items and venturing off to doing this. Thought the two would work well together, so I can share my experiences. My Grand Opening was on January 15, 2010. My husband surprised me with some beautiful flowers and a bottle of champagne. Within the first week, I got my first sale. Yaaaay!! For the many years that I've sewn for myself and family, crocheted and knitted gifts for family and friends, I've decided to give it a "shot" and sell it online. It's truly a "labor of love" for me, doing all this "stuff". I've been blessed to have the love and support from my family.

Each day I will work on something different to add to my website. It may not be finished the same day, but at least I've started . My "Culinary Crochet" collection will eventually grow. My "Faux Sushi" is popular, and today, I'm working on a crocheted "dessert dish".

Tomorrow, I hope to start another project.
